Fall Coffee & Cleanup on Saturday, Dec. 7th!

Forest Hills Park and Playground could use some sprucing up. And everything we do will not only beautify the park… It’ll protect Rock Creek.

The cleanup on Saturday, December 7th from 10-11:30am will be joined by our partners at the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, Rock Creek Conservancy and the Erich Cabe Team. We’ll be cleaning up trash and invasive plants around the park and on the playground at 32nd and Chesapeake Streets NW.

The kid-friendly cleanup within the playground enclosure (32nd and Chesapeake Streets NW) will focus on trash, leaves and sand.

Adult and teen volunteers can tackle the trash in the wider park, and DPR will lead invasive species removal and rain garden maintenance (aka weeding). Some rakes and brooms will be provided. Bring gloves and gardening tools if you have them.

Adults who sign up here don’t have to fill out the volunteer waivers on site: https://rockcreekconservancy.org/what-we-do/upcoming-events#event=35422794. DPR will provide separate waivers for under-18 helpers.

SSL hours available for students (RSVP to foresthillsplayground@gmail.com). Coffee and treats for volunteers courtesy of the Erich Cabe Team!
